Can someone tell me how long it would take to drive from Vernazza in the Cinque Terre to Venice and can you suggest a route.

Mapquest has an International side to its site. It will plot out a route and it also tells you how long the drive should take.

I read about www.viamichelin.com in Rick's Europe Through The Back Door. I have just printed off all of our routes for our upcoming trip from this site. It even tells you the cost of your road trip including tolls if there are any. It is very helpful.

It took us about 4 hours - not counting the one hour waiting near Venice to get through the toll plaza. We made that drive on a Sunday afternoon in August, along with all the Italians heading out on holiday - or returning from their weekend activities.
