We are planning to drive the Autostrada (wherever possible) from Cinque Terre to the Amalfi area, but feel it may be too much driving for one day. We're looking for a recommendation of a town to stay overnight, just before or past Rome to break up the trip. (We are going back to Rome at the end of the trip.) We plan to stop in Siena for lunch and a quick (second) visit but this too close to stay overnight. Any suggestions/recommendations?
