We will be driving from Bologna to Pescasseroli in Abruzzo. We would like any route suggestions you can make. We know that the Abruzzo area has some beautiful scenery and we don't mind taking local roads to Pescasseroli. Also has anyone eaten at Ristorante Plistia in Pescasseroli?

Driving time should be about 5 hours total. The fastest route will have you going south on Italy's east coast. If you wanted to stop at towns along the way, you might consider towns like Ravenna or Rimini. There are some further south as well, but unfortunately we don't have recommendations about them. San Marino would be another good option. I haven't eaten at that restaurant unfortunately.
Mostly freeway driving.
A14 from Bologna toward Pescara
then A25 from Pescara toward Rome/L'Aquila.
Exit A25 at Pescina then follow directions to Pescasseroli.
It's a long drive as it is, and the last 40 km are on a 2 lane highway. So not sure if you'll have a lot of time to stop along the way.
