Driving Florence to Rome

I need a little help with our itinerary. We have already been to Rome and did all the sight seeing so our time in Rome will just exploring the streets. A few questions:
1) Should we stay in Venice 2 or 3 nites
2) I'm not sure if we should stay in 2 locations other than Florence as we drive thru tuscany or just 1 location. We are on the go type family, our last trip we spent 2-3 nites per location and we were happy with that.
Any thoughts on below or recommendation on must see or eat places. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE
Day 1: fly into Venice in early morning, explore Venice
Day 2: explore Venice
Day 3: morning in Venice, train to Florence (OR SPEND ANOTHER NITE IN VENICE)
Day 4: Explore Florence
Day 5: Explore Florence
Day 6: Explore Florence, stay in Florence or pick up car and start drive and stay in another tuscan town (not pienza or Montepulciano- maybe Siena)
Day 7: Stay Pienza or Montepulciano
Day 8: Stay Pienza or Montepulciano
Day 9: Drop car off, explore and stay in Rome
Day 10: Explore Rome
Day 11: fly home

Stay 3 nights in Venice. You will be tired after the flight, so exploring Venice on your arrival day will be limited. You can take an early train to Florence and spend most of the day exploring there as it is only 2 1/4 hours travel time from SL to SMN.

Agree with Sam. Spend that extra night in Venice. My preference would be a 3rd night in Florence as well. But wherever you choose to drive to, make sure you have parking that is easy access. Not sure how easy that is in Siena.

I would choose two bases in Tuscany: Florence plus one other is what you have ideal time for, more would be rushed.

Stick with Venice, Florence and Rome.
Need way more time in Rome.
Venice 2 nights
Florence 4 nights
Rome 5 nights
