Driving directions from Hertz Sansovino to San Casciano in Val di pesa

Hello, I am wondering if someone could give me some detailed driving directions from the car rental pick up to San Casciano. I did a google search for exact addresses and it looks very complicated. Getting out of the lot and city is always the most harrowing part of the trip.
Thanks so much.

You will probably get much more detailed directions from someone else, but we rented a car at that location last year...we, too, were concerned about leaving the city. Not sure which route you are planning to take, but we were planning to drive SR 222 towards Siena. The Hertz agent was very helpful, and told us to turn right out of their lot and follow the signs pointing to Siena (blue? green?)...that simple suggestion made all the difference because we didn’t have to watch for street names until we were out of congested areas. At some point we could choose the SR 222 or take the autostrada south.

Probably the nicest rental car experience we’ve ever had!

Load Google Maps on your phone, set your destination address, attach your phone to the dashboard or windshield, then press start. Follow the directions by Google Maps. Alternatively you can use Waze, which has the added benefit of warning you about upcoming speed cameras.

There are basically two ways to go. In each case, when you exit the Nertz lot you are forced to turn right because the light rail tracks will prevent you from turning left.

One way is to turn right, reach Piazza Paolo Uccello, where you do a U turn and go back straight to Via Del Sansovino, which becomes Viale Talenti then Viale Etruria. Shortly after getting on the freeway to Pisa and Livorno, look for the green freeway signs to A1 for Roma. Get the ticket at the booth, follow directions to Roma, then exit two exits later at FIRENZE IMPRUNETA. Pay toll and follow directions to Siena. The San Casciano exit is along the freeway to Siena.

Another way from the Hertz is to go to Piazza Vettori, then toward Viale Petrarca. At Piazza di Porta Romana you take the Via Senese which takes you to the same freeway to Siena.

Either route takes about the same time. But to avoid the possibility of getting lost the navigator option is the way to go.
