We are driving from Spello in Umbria to Ostuni in Puglia. We'd like a scenic restaurant for lunch about halfway. Can anyone suggest a good spot?

I’ll give you two options about half way on your drive. These options are along the freeway and do not require major detours and exiting the freeway (with toll payment at each exit), therefore they will allow you to reach your destination within 8-9 hours from your departure (depending on the length of your pit stops). It’s going to be a very long 7 hours (plus pit stops) sitting in a car driving on a freeway at about 80 mph (that is the speed limit in the A14). If you don’t have the guts to drive at 80mph it will take even longer. So don’t make major detours, and leave your restaurant exploring to when you reach your destination in Puglia.

We are doing a similar drive; Spello to Monopoli. There is so much to see along the way, that we plan on stopping in Ascoli Piceno for a little walk and lunch and then staying overnight around the Vasto / Termoli area. I suppose you could stop in Vasto or Termoli for lunch if you want to do the drive in one day. Sorry, I'm no help with specific restaurants.
