downtime between rome and paris

Hello fellow travelers~ My mom, daughter and myself will be spending a month in Italy and France (Dec.-Jan.). We begin our travels in Nice.

We have 3 days "down-time" between Rome and Paris. We have a back up plan of revisiting the Cinque Terra, but would prefer somewhere new.

We plan to take the overnight train to Paris where ever we land. Your help would be greatly appreciated!

You can (on this webpage) click Plan Your Trip and Favorite Links and then find the weather websites and investigate what the weather will be in these areas in Dec - Jan (coldest time of the year), so that you can take the weather into account in making your plans.

Thank you for the info....we have traveled this time of year in the past. Weather is not an issue for us.

Florence is between Rome and Paris and offers many things to see and do indoors.
