Has anyone stayed in Dorsodura area of Venice near Rio Tera dei pug I and Campo dei Carmini
Your thoughts?
Thank you
Not sure about the Rio Terà you are referring to, but Campo dei Carmini seems nice. I like to stay in Dorsoduro.
PS: Rio is a Canal (Rio=canal or river).
The walking sidewalk next to a canal is generally called Fondamenta.
Calle is a street without canal.
Rio Terà is a street with a canal where the canal has been covered and paved over to make the walking area wider (the canal is still flowing below). It literal means buried canal. Terà (Venetian)= Interrato (Italian)= Buried underground (English).
Thank you fir interpreting. Address descriptor provided by Airbnb
Possibly description meant Ponte dei Pugni-well known bridge in that area.
Lots of restaurants-nice area.
That is going to be a long walk from any vaporetto stop.
Airbnb's opaque location info is really annoying. We can't tell you exactly how far you'll be from the Ca' Rezzonico vaporetto stop. It looks as if it may not be too bad. Campo dei Carmini itself is just 1/2 kilometer (about 0.3 miles) away from the vaporetto stop. There are three bridges crossing the little side canal to the Ca' Rezzonico side, which is helpful. You shouldn't have to backtrack to find a bridge.
It seems as if you'd be pretty close to Campo Santa Margherita, a nice, lively campo with multiple food options, including a branch of Gelateria il Doge.
However, I'd insist on a precise location before making a definite decision, because Venice has some squirrely corners that could mean a longer-than-expected walk to the vaporetto.
That is a great area to stay. The bars in Campo San Barnaba are good, there is a supermarket close by. We have spent many weeks in that part of Venice.
you can ask the host for the exact (or as close to exact as you can get in Venice), if you want to figure out where the closest vaporetto stop is...or do they give you that info? I would also want to know how close to the university it is, as some areas can be noisy near student housing and party areas. All depends on you, however.
Thank you turns out property isn’t available for more entire stay back to the hunt
