Dorf Tirol

Do I need a rental car here? I am traveling with my 92 yr old father who uses a walker. I do not know if he can climb onto a bus.

If you need a car, rent one. Have an International Drivers Permit from AAA. Assume you will be in Sued Tirol the whole time.

I can’t seem to find rental cars in Dorf. I did find in BolzAno. Do you know how easy it is to get from Dorf to Balzanobto pick up and return a car?

Well, how are you getting to Dorf to begin with?
There is an Avis and Hertz in Merano, as well as some small private agencies.

Probably using Day Trip to drive us! We are coming from Innsbruck.
I think that’s easiest for my 92 yr old father . Although he won’t want to pay for that luxury! I think it’s worth it.

If you are going back to Austria afterward, you could just rent a car in Innsbruck and drive from there.

I've never been there, but given the name I'm not surprised at the lack of car rental or other things there...

Dorf is a German word for "village".

Take the 221 bus, goes every 15 minutes to Merano train station, taking 18 minutes, then a couple of places walking distance from there, including an Avis.

Yes, I first thought it was a generic Tyrolean village, but it is a real place. A pleasant suburb of Merano up on the hill.
