Don't pay attention to the weather sites

We're leaving today to begin our Spring Break in Italy. So much planning can now be put aside and let the fun begin. I guess my online presence the past few months (including to this great Forum...one last Thank You before departing) inspired my teenage daughter to check the online extended 10 day forecast for Italy.

It calls for 10 days of solid rain throughout all of Italy. I explained to her that the weatherman's job is the most forgiving, and told her that unless there is a meteorological catastrophe brewing of Biblical proportions, we'll probably get all kinds of weather, and that the unpredictability of it is perfect for a place like Italy. Those days where the weather is less cooperative for outdoor things, we'll enrich ourselves in the beauty of some of the world's great catherdrals, museums (and ristorantes!)

I'm sure my words of wisdom had a profound effect, but I'm still putting a parental lock on the weather channel!

A friend of mine had a good suggestion...she said that I should definitely pack an umbrella...that way I'm assured that it will never rain.

Anyway...the countdown begins...only a couple of hours...Arrivederci and thanks again for all of the great advice.

And remember, rain usually means a chance of rain, and rarely for more than a few minutes or at worst a couple hours. I could also say that I would gladly change a sunny Chicago day to get my worst rainy day in Rome again.
