Hello - we are trying to plan a ski trip with our college/young adult kids for the 2nd week of January and I am finding it a bit overwhelming! 1 of the kids and her boyfriend live in Firenze and will be joining us but have no experience travelling this area to help plan. The rest of us will be flying in from Detroit. I am seeking advice on where we should fly into and stay. We would like to ski 3 days and then sightsee the remaining 4-5 days.
Hello - Great to hear you planning to enjoy Dolomiti Superski! If you would like help planning your trip, you might find one of the travel services on this page helpful: https://throneandvine.com/south-tyrol-itinerary-services/. The Dolomites are one of the best skiing destinations in the world, and the vast network of slopes Dolomiti Superski offers is truly unmatched. A key to narrowing down your choices is focusing on the type of skiing experience you’re after such as family-friendly runs or challenging terrain.
I would recommend staying in Selva and skiing the Sella Ronda circuit at least one day. Also the Lagazuoi Valley is neat to do, with the final mile being done by horse drawn sleigh/draglift.

Venice is probably your closest airport. You will need to take a connection coming from Detroit no matter where you go in the area, (Milan or Munich).
