Dolomiti in November??

My family (hubby, 3 young kids) & I will be in Venice for several days next month (November) and would love to get a taste of the Dolomites, possibly as a day trip and by train from Venice. Is this do-able and what should we expect from the weather? Will it be snowing yet?

Shaleza, I live about an hour north of Venice at the base of the Dolomites (which just got snow on them two days ago). You can take a train from Venice straight into Pordenone but public transportation from that point will be difficult.
