Dolomites: without a car where to be based/how to get to Tre Cime De Lavaredo and Seceda

Hello, I'm researching how to get around Tyrol without a car and these two locations look like they'll be a bit more troublesome, especially Tre Cime De Lavaredo.

Where would be good places to be based (which ideally are cute towns in themselves) to get to these, and how would I get to Seceda and Tre Cime De Lavaredo from those bases. I presume for Seceda staying at Ortisei is the best option? What about Tre Cime De Lavaredo?

Time isn't a constraint, I'll probably arrive in the region by getting a train from Austria to Bolzano, and then take it from there and include these two locations along with a few others.

Hi Martin. Not familiar with the Tre Cime place, but for Seceda, yes, Ortisei is good, or St Christina. I believe both have lifts to Seceda. There is also a 3rd town Selva. (Note all 3 towns also go by German names; e.g. Ortisei = St. Ulrich). These 3 towns are close together; easy to get back and forth and to Bolzano without a car; there is frequent shuttle bus service. Ortisei is the biggest (although still small), most hotels, shops and restaurants. Enjoy your trip!

I have not yet made it here, but I am an avid watcher of the live cam: Innichen/San Candido.

Yep, it looks like a challenge via public transport, but if I get there, that is what I would be doing. Please report back if you head in that direction.
