Dolomites without a car

Hello! I have a few questions.
-First should I get my train tickets in advance going from Milan to Bolzano on a Wed. and from Venice to Milan on a Sat. I read no but want to make sure.
-I'm guessing a lift card would not work for me for 12 days in 3/4 different valleys (Vigo di Fassa, Campitello/Canazei, Badia, Cinque Torri. We would not take a lift every day.
-If anyone is able to advise on hikes I would like to do the Viel dal Pan for views of Marmolada and also the hike from Contrin to Rif. Passo di S. Nicolo to Sas d' Adam for view and the ridge walk from Passo S. Nicolo but I don't have time to do both. Suggestions? Also is it worth getting off the bus and back on to see lake Carezza? We will be there in Sept. so low water level.
Thank you for any information!

Take a look at the Dolomiti SuperSummer Points Card. It is good in many valleys, although not in the Val Gardena (at least it was not last year). You can buy points that are deducted each time you ride a lift. Each lift has an assigned value and you can share a pass with someone else and reload when needed. Check their site https://www.dolomitisuperski.com/en/SuperSummer/Discover/Valleys.
