Dolomites with a car

Hi all! My boyfriend and I are planning a month long tour of Italy, so we will have a rental car to get around. My question is, if we plan to do a 3-4 day hut to hit hike in the Dolomites, what's the best option for where to leave our car in the meantime? I've just only started researching where we plan to stop along the way, but I know we will be approaching the Dolomites from Bologna. Also, what's the best trail map available? Any advice or information on the topic would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Courtney

Every Italian who is a pro hiker or climber will tell you that the best maps for the Dolomites are the ones published by the Tabacco company.

As you can see they have an App linkable from the site above.
You can find the paper maps on Amazon or also Omnimap which specializes on...well..maps.

Where to leave the car depends on where you are going to start and finish the hike. Personally I like the Val Gardena a lot (Ortisei is the main town there), but if you want to hike another valley or area, for example Cortina, then you'd park your car in a town there. There are towns everywhere, so you need to decide which area you want to hike.

After your hike you can take the bus back to your car. They came along quite often. You could find a hike between the summer gondolas and avoid hiking up and down. That will be such a beautiful hike!
