Dolomites - Will lifts/gondolas/funiculars be open in early June?

Planning to be in the Dolomites June 1-10 for some alpine hiking/walking. Staying in Cortina D'Ampezzo and then Ortisei. Will the lifts/gondolas/funiculars be open by then or will we be too early? Thanks!

I would think some, but not all, will be open. In the area, I think there's something like 200 lifts and funiculars. Far more than in all of Colorado.

I'd say a good percentage in early June. Can't check right now because they are concentrating on the winter lift scheduling. The summer schedule should be published toward the end of the ski season in late March. They start opening in mid-May and open a few more every weekend until they are all open by the end of June. There will be enough to give you plenty of hiking opportunities in early June.

You’ll be in luck Betsy. The Lagazuoi cable car, midway between Cortina and Ortisei, every year opens in May. The Mont Seuc Seiser Alm cable car in Ortisei is also open yearly in late May.

If you are traveling by car, simply driving the passes gives nearly the same experiences, being able to walk among the peaks. The Gardena Pass, Giau, Sella, etc. are in the immediate area. Stunning drives.

Just my opinion, to truly enjoy the Dolomites, I’d skip the stay in Cortina, which is basically a city. Traffic, noise, etc. I’d base, as we have, in either the Alta Badia or Val Gardena. Or both.

I just checked this morning on when the lifts opened in summer 2018. Many of the ones from Ortisei opened June 1 or 2, and others June 6. Also the Alpe di Siusi lifts. We'll be there June 5-10 and it's my feeling that we'll have plenty of lifts to choose from.
