Hello I am planning a trip to the Dolomites in September and considering Ortisei as home base. Three adults total. Would appreciate recommendations for hotels or apartments in Ortisei.
I may consider Castelrotto/Kastelruth, however concerned with this smaller village lack of nightlife.

Hotel Grones worked well for our family of four for three days. Fantastic meals with half board and family run. High level of quality all around. Would stay there again (and it’s often recommended on this board).
Should we stay longer than a week next time though I would probably look at apartments as it would be more economical for a longer stay.
We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Niblea and Hotel Ansitz Jakoberhof in Ortisei. Neither is within walking distance of downtown in case you are looking for a place near the center.

Again, walking distance to everything. I enjoyed both locations.
