Dolomites July weather - Alpe di Suisa and Refugio differences?

We will be staying and hiking in Alpe di Suisa this July 3-10, and 2 nights in there will be at the Tierser Alpl Refugio. Will it be much colder at the refugio in the evening than down on the meadow? Right now the temperature ranges from 45 F to 75 F at the refugio. Since we are only hiking in with day packs, we want to only pack the warm clothes we need. Will it warm up in a month or is this like other mountain areas where the nights will always be cold? The rest of our 3 week trip is in warmer places so this the only place we may need warm jackets. Thanks!

Dress in multiple layers and bring a rainproof warm jacket.
The refuge is at 2440 m elevation, expect the average day temperature to be between 10 and 25 °C; but it could well drop to 5 °C by night. Snow is rare in July but not impossible at that elevation; a sudden cloud dropping down the temperature and maybe a shower of rain may be a daily occurrence. Weather in mountain areas can change very quickly without following predictable patterns and you must always be ready for a sudden drop in temperature.

I don't remember the details, but there's a formula that supposedly provides a good estimate of how much the temperature drops as you ascend. If you Google: temperature at altitude I think you'll find it on a website maintained by a mountain-climbing club, or something like that.

Italy's very warm in the middle of the Summer, but it can get a little cool at night in the Dolomites..
I'd be more concerned with carrying a light jacket that shreds rain because the mountains of Northern Italy and Austria often get afternoon rains in the Summer.
