Dolomites itinerary help

We booked a last minute trip to the Dolomites and Venice. We are coming with our two young adult children and only have three nights in Dobbiaco. We will have a car. We are not serious hikers, but want to do long scenic walks to get a feel of the land with hopes to go back someday. Any input on this itinerary would be helpful! Day 1- Rotwand/Croda Rossa cable car up and walk down to the end of the valley. Lake Dobbiaco and Lake Braies after 4pm. Day 2- Monte Piana, Lago di Landro, and do a couple viewpoints of Tre Cime. Any other suggestions? Thank you!

that seems reasonable but something else stands out.

Does this mean that Days 0 and 4 are a round trip from venice and back? The flat out drive could be done in around 3 hours by shortest route so there is scope for some variance to take in more scenery and higher passes, especially as the direct route would go through the areas planned for Day 1 and 2.

Set a route Venice - Passo Rolle (Trento province) - Predazzo (Trento province) - Canazei (Trento province) - Toblach. This will nearly double driving hours but still works as a transit day even with stops for photos and lunch etc. The Passo Rolle is about half way in terms of time, the first hour is less impressive on any routing so push on until you are in the mountains before looking for stops. Could be done in the opposite direction depending which day has the most time available but not advised in either direction on days where fog, low cloud or heavy rain are forecast. Some popel base entire trips on visiting these passes.

And get used to the german names in the north beyond Canazei, it becomes a first language german region (lathough tourist staff will speak italian and english!)
