We will be doing day hikes for 8 days beginning September 11. We’re dividing our time equally between Ortisei and Badia. We will have a car. My questions is about trail maps. Should I buy hard copy maps or will the All Trails app work? Thanks.

All trails is ok. Check the TI for map resources. Then the lift stations usually have something useful

I much prefer paper maps as they give you the “big picture” and show possible alternate routes you may want to consider. The free ones you can get at the TI or from your hotel are generally sufficient; they show the trails with numbers that align with the trail signs, and the lifts, Refugio’s, etc.
