Dolomites in October

I am considering adding a few days in the Dolomites to tack on to a trip ending in Venice. I plan to rent a car at Venice airport and have 2 days. I’m hoping to get to Bolzano/Ortesei and also stop somewhere on Lake Garda. Bonus would be finding a nice winery to visit along the way.
Will it likely be snowy in mid-October? I’m a bit concerned about navigating icy mountain roads as a solo driver.
Appreciate any advise on driving conditions, and good wineries, for mid-October.

It was snowy when we were there mid September 2024, most of the snow arrived the day before we arrived, for the most part, roads were good except for mountain passes where we had to drive somewhat more cautiously.

I was there last year from late October into mid November. It snowed several times at the higher elevations but the roads were easily passable. The snow that I experienced was typically less than 4 inches and offered beautiful covering. Although I personally was not driving I noticed that most vehicles had no issues. My mode of transportation was by bus and by train. Our trip took included Tirano, Bolzano, Lake Garda, Lake Iseo, the Berninapass, etc as well as a number of other area destinations.
