We are trying to decide if we should rent a car or hire a private tour. We will arrive back in Venice and have a full day to explore. We are thinking Cortina, Dolomites. Suggestions. I also use a walker but I am fully ambulatory. I climbed and walked the wall at Dubrovnik to give you an idea.

Not a lot of time for Dolomites. It is 2.5 hours from Venice to Cortina.
How about Verona? An hour by train from Venice.

While we were in Venice in June, we took a trip to the Dolomites. We used: https://www.tours-italy.com/tour/small-group-dolomites-cortina-trip_77 The trip was great. Our driver, Marco, was fantastic. I do not know how it could have been better. Renting a car may well be cheaper, but it was nice just to sit back and watch the countryside go by. I would use them again without hesitation.
