Which town is the nicest to stay in the Italian Dolomites?
Thanks,
Jean
We loved Ortisei close to all the lifts and so beautiful. The Hotel Grones was a fantastic hotel run by the most hospitable family you will ever meet!
Ortisei is our favorite, in the Val Gardena, also our favorite of the few valleys we have visited. Hotel Garni Walter and Villa Aurelia are my recommendations for B&Bs after 5 visits to the area. For a resort experience, try Hotel Albion on the hill outside of Ortisei. Also lots of great apartments there.
Hi,
I think the Alta Badia (Colfosco, Corvara, La Villa, San Cassiano) is nicer as far as scenery, but no real towns. I'd classify them as smaller villages. I guess Corvara could be labeled a town. For towns, Ortisei. Nice town with a small but nice pedestrian zone. The Val Gardena has plenty of lifts and cable cars up into the Dolomites.
