We have 3 days, April 11, 12 & 13 to stay and hike in the Dolomites between 2 other Rick Steves tours. Wondering which hikes will be open during that time. I heard that many are closed then.
Thank you for any info you can share.
The hikes will be open, but the lifts/gondolas probably won’t be. So you will not be able to get to many of the most scenic places. Or you will have a very long uphill hike, probably with a lot of snow. Most of the lifts close early April and don’t reopen until mid-June. You might consider staying up on the Alpe di Siusi.

You heard right. Not only will the trail selection be limited, but if they're not snowy, they will be wet. Also many businesses close between the end of ski season and the beginning of summer season when Italian schools close - around June 8.
