10-adults Sept-7 We arrive in Venice at 11 am, take the Vaparetto to the hotel and do whatever. We start in Venice because its close to Cortina. Sept-8 Tour Venice. Sept-9 We'll get to Cortina from Venice about 11 am, ride the Arrow in the Sky, stay at a nearby hotel and walk around. Do we need to rent a small bus in Venice, or get to Cortina some other way. I seek your input. Sept-10 8:00 am drive from Cortina along Dolomite Road to Bolzano. Ride cable cars at Marmolado and Pordoi have lunch at a Tyrolean spot, do whatever and arrive Bolzana around 3:00 pm,then drive the Autostrada to Varenna and arrive out 7 pm. Who has done this? Can it be done? Give me your input. Do you know of any folks in Cortina who could conduct this for a fee and then they'll get back to Coprtina on their own? Could you recommend a typical Tyrolean place for lunch along the way? Howard PS....This is the first leg of a longer trip, I'm taking step ny step.

Your best option may be to rent a car at Venice Airport and drop it at Bolzano station and continue by train. Might be 8 pm before you get to Varenna. Bus service is rather slow and infrequent and slow Venice to Cortina. A car would be handy to have exploring the Dolomites.
