Dolomite driving at Easter time[INVALID]third week of April

Will the roads, and passes from Venice to Cortina d'Ampezzo and then to Val Gardena and onto A-22 be drivable in a small rental car the third week of April? Niles

Hi Niles, Should be ok. Weather is totally unpredictable, but the passes you're looking at do not close in the winter. Some, such as the Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse and the Stelvio pass, for example, do close for the winter months. We visited the Dolomites in April '05 (1 of 4 trips recently) and had no problems at all. Small car should be fine also, we "did" the Dolomites (and passes) twice in a 1.4 litre car. Paul

We were through there in late October and it was fine so I expect it won't be bad by late April.
