Has anyone noticed if the prices in Italy are coming down? Some airlines, hotels, and auto rentals in the US are offering some very attractive rates. I'm not greedy, just a retiree on a small fixed income who would like to take a trip to Italy. I'm afraid hard beds and sleeping in train stations are out of the question.
Haven't noticed that, but the dollar is definitely MUCH stronger against the euro than a year ago at this time.
Travel priced in dollars should be about 20% less than it was at the high point last year. That may be why prices appear to be coming down. Good news for those of us planning to visit Europe in 2009!
