Opinions please? How does this differ from the regular Doges Palace tour? Thanks.
You see areas not on the regular tour. Donna
It's worth it if you want to see something new and different. I've been to Venice many times before and so I enjoyed the Secret Itinerary Tour.
I went on my second visit to Venice and everyone on the tour that I took enjoyed it. It was February and very cold. But we were told that in the summer, it is sweltering. Most of the tour is on the top floor, right under the roof, no AC, no heat. It is a fascinating look into life in the middle ages, the tiny rooms where the clerks kept track of everyone, the room where the Inquisitor grilled people, prisoners' cells.
We went in February as well and really enjoyed it. It was very interesting to see the cabinet rooms and especially the jail cells. We were freezing up in the cells with our sweaters, jackets and gloves - I couldn't image being a prisoner during that time!
