Doge's Palace -- Secret Itineraries tour vs. regular tickets

We'll be in Venice for 2 days next week w/ our teenagers. I have an after-dark tour at St. Mark's booked the evening we get there. I want to see Doge's Palace. The Secret Itinteraries tour seems really cool, but it's first thing in the morning, the day after the evening tour. Is it worth it or should I just get tickets and wander on our own?

I don't know what tour companies are trustworthy other than Viator and Dark Rome, which I've booked with before. Please recommend any you know that are legit.

I did the Secret Itineraries tour when I visited a couple of years ago and loved it. I would say it’s worth it. One caveat though — if you’re thinking about visiting the Correr Museum, while the regular Doge’s Palace Ticket includes admission to the Correr, booking the Secret Itineraries tour does not. At least not when I was there. So if you’re interested in visiting the other museums the Doge’s ticket includes admission to, you’re better off doing that instead of the Secret Itineraries tour.
