Doge's Palace reservation

Hi, if I don't go for the Secret Itinerary, is it difficult to get a ticket without reservation? How long will I need wait in the queue if I visit there in the end of July?

Please advise. Thanks very much.

No, we showed up about 3 PM (they're open until 7) in mid-June and had no line and no crowds at all. I would strongly recommend the audio guide. One thing to note is that you now can ONLY buy a combo ticket for the St. Mark's square museums, not individual ones.

I also just walked in and bought a ticket. Just the normal queue for security and stuff. Definately get an audio guide, they are really good, and you won't miss anything. I bought my ticket as a 'single' entrance. I didn't have to buy a combination ticket for multiple museums. You can get a multiple ticket which if good if you want to see other museums but I only wanted to see the Palace.

I re read David's reply and it sounds like things have changed. I was there in March and you could get single entrance tickets. Bit of a bummer if you only want to go to one museum.

Hi

My husband and I visited the Doge Palace in Oct and could not get the Secret Itinery tickets. It is best to reserve as we were disappointed.

I visited Doge Palace on May 11 as a walk in and purchased a single ticket. Maybe they change the rules during high travel season?
