Doge's Palace Advanced Tickets?

Hello, All. Just a quick one. Trying to find out how to book online/advance tickets for the Doge's Palace Secret Tour. Having trouble finding something that looks official. Any ideas?

Also - is this tour appropriate for 2 x 70 yr old, and a very large (390lb) guy? Thanks!

Can't wait to see it either way.

Easiest way to not pay in advance is to ask your hotel to make reservations for you. Since you need to be there 15 minutes early to trade your voucher for the tickets, that makes as much sense as buying them in advance. The official web site is http://www.museiciviciveneziani.it. We haven't been on this tour yet, just less than 3 weeks to go. My understanding is that there is a lot of walking and standing and in the summer it can be hot.

Also Chris, there are stairs--not a ton but there are some and somewhat long and steep ones.

There are stairs. We didn't see any elevators. As you begin the tour, you go up 3 stories of stairs. Once up there, it's quite level. Some narrow places.

Thanks Larry, and Darcy. I think we/they can handle 3 long flights. :) (as long as it's not 30... lol) Narrow spots will be interesting. =\ I have 64" shoulders.

Funny you should ask this today.... I just got my tickets yesterday!!

I would purchase your tickets ASAP. I'm going in May and, while they still have lots of tickets in total, they have 3 tickets for this english speaking tour, and 5 for this one and 2 for this one, etc. If there's more than a couple of you going I suggest you get your ticket. It was really easy.

This is the link I used.

For those who have done the Secret Itineraries Tour, is it a lot better than the normal tour (just walking through the main areas with an audio guide)?

Also, when you go back through the main halls on your own that the Secret Itineraries Tour skips, how much longer does it take to see all of that? What I mean is, Rick Steves guide says the Secret Itineraries Tour takes about 75 minutes, but since you are left in the palace to see the main halls afterward, how much time does that add to the experience?

Thanks.

Thank Merritt. Yeah, I looked today, and there were only 5 tickets left - but we are not 100pct sure of the time we are getting in. sigh. so i don't think we'll be able to do it this time out...

FWIW, the only narrow spaces I recall were on the dungeon part of the tour, going over the Bridge of Sighs, etc. The main parts of the palace are very open.

Thank you, Michael.

I'm really hoping we can finalize our Venice times soon, so we can get this booked!!!!! :) (We'll be there that day, no matter what - it's just "when" is the question now. lol).
