Rick Steves says tickets for the doge palace can be obtained at a museum nearby which is not often crowded. Also states that Florence besides the Duomo , uffizi, academia a do not need reservations. I’m wondering what the general advice is on pre-booking for the doge palace, and Medici tombs in Florence nonetheless.
Accademia definitely needs a reservation unless you like to wait in lines.
Frequently a line at Medici tombs but not like the other places.
For my visit to Venice last Fall I purchased my entry to both St Marks and the Doges Palace online before I left home. I did the Secret Itineraries tour at the Doges Palace but even if I had not I’d have bought ahead online and used a screenshot on my phone.
