Doge's Palace: Bridge of Sighs.

Does anyone know if you can walk through the bridge even if you do not book the Secret Itineraries tour? The tour is sold out for the day I will be in Venice. I guess the other options would be to buy tickets for the Italian tour if that would help me skip the line and walk through the bridge. Thanks.

Tim: Thank you for making that correction! I so longed to do it myself.

As long as you have a ticket for the Doge's Palace you most certainly can traverse the The Bridge of Sighs independently .

Lydia, just in case you're not aware...it's not the Bridge of Sights. It's the Bridge of Sighs :) You will indeed have access to the Bridge of Sighs just by purchasing a normal entrance ticket.

Lydia , you're a good sport . Another one I encountered a few months ago was " The Bridge Of Size " . I'm looking for more , this could become a hobby . Enjoy Venice !! ;-)

As long as we're correcting: it's the Doge's Palace, not Dodge.

How much is a normal entrance ticket? And how do I get there?

You guys are funny! I blame Google because even if I type "Dodge's Palace" it directs me to the right website :)

@ Susanne , The ticket to the palace is about 15EU but a good " Rick tip " is to buy it as a combo ticket with the Correr Museum at the western end of St. Marks directly opposite the basilica . You can skip the ticket buying line at the palace that way , and more to the point , you can go into the Correr first which is quite an interesting place .

The SI tour takes you to the upper reaches of the Palace, above the main galleries, that are not otherwise open to the public. If memory serves correctly, the Bridge of Sighs isn't anywhere near the tour itinerary.
