Does the Leonardo Express from Rome Airport to Rome Termini ever fill up?
I cannot find this anywhere.
Do I need to be concerned about getting tickets ahead of time in late June arriving on a Monday at 10:50 AM?
Thanks in Advance!

Never. Runs every 30 mins. Buy tickets at the station and validate them prior to boarding. No discounts available.
Thanks for the quicken information. I also see another post where people say you can stand in the event it were necessary. That was good information too.
They are occasionally crowded, but as long as you can get aboard, you will be fine. You just have to stand up, like on this Leonardo Express here
Roberto, you crack me up.
Roberto,
Great picture.
After using the Leonardo many times, I've always had a seat, but not everyone else had a place to sit. Sometimes it's crowded and other times...not to much.
Buon viaggio,
I'm just glad I did not have any food in my mouth for that one. It would be all over the keyboard and screen.
jon,
I've never seen the Leonardo Express fill up (having frequent departures may help with that). However it may be crowded at times so you may have to stand. Just play it by ear.
Thanks everyone,
I am happy to stand if necessary, I was most curious to see if that was possible, or if it were seats only.
Where are you staying? We always take the local train to Trastevere, the the tram 8. It gets us much closer to the historic center where we try tustay, plus it's cheaper. It's never been full.
jon,
One other tip. I find it very helpful to buy my ticket for the L.E. the day prior to travel, so that I don't have to deal with that when I'm hauling luggage. That way I just validate the ticket and then board the train.
Depending on the time of day, the Leonardo Express departs every 15 minutes!
Yes it fills up, fast too. I've taken it when Italian police guard each door, all along the length of the train, two at each door, one on each side, making sure that All get off before we get on.
Then it's a free for all, the cops leave and we all push and shove as crowds rush the doors. Not the most pleasant experience, but I yell back at anyone who yells at me! It's a mess, people tripping over their own luggage as they try scooting them through the doors in the crush of bodies.
It's actually Funny now that I think of it, but I travel very light and I do quite well in the madness. If you hold back you stand up, that's all. And if you have too much luggage, or it's too big or too heavy you stand! Traveling light is no guarantee of a seat, but it helps me rise above the stampede and slip in between the cracks!
That has got to be April 1st posting. We have been on the LE at least a dozen times for the past years and NEVER encountered any situation approaching what Sandra describes. But that was a good description of what we encountered at a metro station just after the soccer game concluded.
Nope, didn't make it up, actually happened to me more than once, not every time.
Sandra's experience is something I have never encountered anywhere in Italy.
Oh ok. It's April fool's day.
To Ken and to Becky:
Buying the day before for some people would be a great idea.
In our case, we are flying into Rome the day of, and leaving to the Termini train station immediately. There is no return trip TO the airport, as we fly home from Frankfurt.
As for where we are staying, we are actually leaving Rome immediately. So really we need to get from the airport to Termini to catch an hourly train to Florence.
Thanks everyone for all the great tips!
You do know that there are a couple of direct trains from the airport, through Termini, to Florence. You can buy all your tickets at the ticket office at the airport.
Great Idea Frank, taking a direct train from Airport to Florence and have it pass through Termini station anyway.
We found the Leonardo Express- Termini - Florence Option I discussed will get us there 3:10 minutes earlier, for $40 more.
I'm good with the additional cost for 3 more hours inFlorence the first day
