Does my wife need to take a skirt to Italy?

We are going to Italy for the first time, and are trying to pack light. We are in our 60's, not planning on a lot of night life other than dining out. Will nice slacks be acceptable, or should she take a skirt? We are going to be there for 3 wks. mid-April to early May.

She will be fine with just nice slacks; but as a woman, when and if it's hot, I like to wear skirts in the daytime as they are cooler.

She will be fine with slacks. I would take what you are comfortable wearing in general and you should be fine.

And remember, they do sell skirts in Italy so if she decides she wants one, she could always force herself to do a little shopping. :-)

Slacks are definitely acceptable. I suggest something comfortable with a bit a room for all the wonderful Italian food. :-)

I agree with Maryam. If your wife wears skirts and likes them, packing a versatile skirt makes sense. If she prefers pants (as I do when traveling) then a nice pair of slacks will certainly work when dressed up with the right accessories.
