Does Italy require you to put your toiletries in a quart plastic bag when going through security?

Do I have to put all my liquids in a baggie to get through airport security or is it OK to have them in separate places in my luggage?

For hand luggage, you are allowed only a limited quantity of liquids (1/10 of a liter in total), to be put in a transparent resealable bag, to be presented separately at the X-ray scan. Gels and cremes are considered liquid.
For checked luggage, a reasonable quantity of liquids, provided thay are not flammable.

A few airports (Rome and Milan) have new generation scanners and you do not have to take out liquids but you cannot still count of it as only some scanners have been renovated.

Yes, all liquids in a single 1 litre resealable clear plastic bag with your carry on luggage. No single container larger than 100 ml.

Hi Karin, you're allowed the typical quart size Ziploc bag for your "3-1-1 items" - the same as the US.

Absolutely.
Every other country does as well.
This applies if you plan to take your liquids in your personal item bag into the cabin with you.
They all have to be in one clear bag only, and all have to be less than 100 mls.

Of course, if you are checking your bag, just put all your liquids in there.
