Is Dodge's Palace the same as Ducal's Palace? I tried to buy the ticket and Vivaticket comes out. As I clicked to buy the ticket on line they don't allow me to do it unless I register. This is too long of a process just to buy a simple ticket. Does anyone have purchased this ticket in advance or just waited for the day you are there? How difficult is to get a ticket in Oct directly at the window? They want also you to get thru other three museums because they don't sell just the Ducals. Please help me here.
Thanks a lot,
It's not Dodge's Palace...it's Doge's Palace and yes it is the same as the Ducal. There's an English button to change language. If it's too much trouble for you to register then just take your chances and show up and buy a ticket. Maybe you'll stand in a line a mile long and maybe not. Maybe you'll get a ticket and maybe you won't.
So you just have to decide which is more trouble for you.
As the previous reply mentioned, the Doge's Palace is the same as Il Palazzo Ducale. I wouldn't worry too much about getting tickets in October. If you show up first thing in the morning right at opening time, there probably won't be much of a queue. That's been my experience travelling in September.
I would highly recommend the Doge's Palace Secret Itineraries Tour. You go into portions of the palace that are not accessible with a standard entry ticket. It's about 75 minutes long and offered in English 3 times per day. The ticket allows you to take the tour and then hang around to visit the rest of Doge's Palace on your own. A ticket is 20 euro, the same price as the 3-in-1 museum ticket. The tour is NOT for people with mobility issues as there are narrow stairways/passages. You would want to buy a ticket in advance; it's worth the trouble to register for this tour.
