Dodge palace and SI tour in Venice

Hi, We will be in Venice in two weeks. I was wondering if it is worth it to see Dodge palace and the Secret itinerary tour. Thanks

The Doge's palace is really full of worthwhile things to see. Each room and hallway is different and will give you a new insight into Venetian politics.
I say go for it!

Not trying to be insulting but Doge is pronounced "dough-jay" with the "j" being soft. Please don't take offence.

Too funny. I was trying to figure out if the Dodge motor company had set up a palace in Venice to showcase their automobiles. FWIW, the Italian name for that building is the Palazzo Ducale. Do be sure to see the interior of St. Mark's next door. It's amazing.

I tried my best to reserve the SI tour, but it was full up for the week we were there. So disappointed. Reserve as soon as humanly possible, and yes, I would do it!

Just did the Doge Palace & SI tour last week with Walks of Italy. I can't compare to what you would have seen just doing the public tour through the palace, but we felt it was worth it. You go up to some of the offices of officials and a few rooms that weren't open to the public. Also prison cells and across the Bridge of Sighs (although I think that was to the public). it also included a skip the lines to the basilica.

At the end of the day, for me it was about having a guide that could tell me more about the amazing sights and history - stuff I might have gotten from enough reading or audio downloads. But nice to talk to a person and interact. i don't regret our fee for it.

The tour and SI were indeed interesting but as Lee stated, its the tour guide who made it worthwhile. It will be hot for sure ~ it was hot in April and I can't imagine that June or July would be cooler! Exit can be tricky to find so be sure to ask your tour guide before you head out as we walked an extra distance when it turned out to be unnecessary.

Don't worry about the typo. They're good for putting a smile on the face. My favorite recent one was the guy who wanted to exchange vowels with his wife while in Italy. That one still makes me chuckle.
