Dobbiaco-Cortina Dolomite Bike Path

I'm curious if anyone has familiarity with this bike path:

I understand it's a former train line that was decommissioned in the 1960s, and is a "very easy" ride.

I can tell you that we are not frequent or experienced bike riders (we don't own bikes at home, if that tells you anything) so "very easy" suits us fine, but nothing more.

Has anyone done it? Can we get transportation there and rent bikes anywhere in the area? Would be fun if it's not too much hassle.

Never done it on bike but driven it several times. Well, Dobbiaco is at 1240 meters elevation - Cimabanche (top of the hill) at 1529 m, Cortina at 1224 m. - Most of the road is flat, but there are some climbs that are a bit steeper on the Cortina side. If you can manage them two times, you can do it.

If you want a very easy and popular bike hike in the area, rent bicycles in San Candido and go to Lienz, Austria, about 40 kms. all descending. On your way back take an Austrian train where bikes are allowed.
