Do you have questions for Rick Steves?

I'm standing next to him in Copenhagen, if you want I'll ask him.

I suppose you've moved on by now...but how about a guide to Sicily?

Milliherres post all the questions you have and some of us will answer.
Generally rail passes are not a good deal, especially in Italy where point to point is cheap. Yes you can purchase point to point in advance online or on the spot. Seats don't sell out (rarely) but if you want discounted tickets you need to get online when they go on sale 120 days prior. Discounted tickets have restrictions (non refundable non changeable)

My wife was going to tell him I am always on his forum but I stopped her otherwise I would feel obliged to ask him to share a portion of his profits for my advisory services. So we decided to just take a picture with him. If I see him again strolling on the Stroget I'll ask him about Sicily.

About Laurel's question concerning a Guide to Sicily: when on the RS Sicily Tour in May, our excellent and very experienced and knowledgable Sicilian tour guide Tomasso Pante said that he had been involved in developing a new RS Guide to Sicily, but that the first draft was something like 675 pages long, and it was currently being edited down to a manageable size. So, it appears that something is indeed in the works.

I love this post! Roberto, if anyone deserves to end up standing by Rick Steves, it is you. Next to Rick, you have helped me more than anyone else with the details of visiting Italy and loving it. I'm sure many other posters would agree. You are too modest not to have shared with him your presence on this forum.
All the best,
Cynthia

This past May we entered the room in the Uffizi that has Botticelli's 'The Birth of Venus' and there was RS standing in front of that painting surrounded by fellow RS turisti. It was like a scene from his Florence show.

Would you recommend a February trip to Sicily? Is it real cold? Do places close up?

Planning on a month tour. Rose

I'm not in Copenhagen anymore, so if you have questions for Rick you need to post it in the Forum.

@Rose: Sicily in February is similar to California at that time. Mild but not beach weather. Also there are variations between coastal areas and the interior, especially at higher altitudes. Check averages on www.wunderground.com for the locations you intend to visit.

I'm a little over 5-10. Rick is slightly taller than me. Maybe an inch or two. Unless he was wearing high heels in Copenhagen.

"I'm a little over 5-10. Rick is slightly taller than me."

Nope, Rick is taller than that.

Laura, can you disclose the boss's height? Inquiring minds apparently want to know.

Hmmm. My husband is 6 feet tall, and I felt Rick towered over him. Maybe I was gushing!

He's either 6'2" or 6'3". Makes it hard to keep pace when anyone's doing book research with him.

Laura, thank you for clarifying this towering question about The Boss.
