Do you add gardens to your itinerary? Resource for gardens in Italy

When I first started planning my Italy trip for next year, I was rather fixated by Monty Don's Gardens of Italy videos. In the planning, I found this website of grand gardens of Italy. grandigiardini (dot) it
https://www.grandigiardini.it/lang_EN/giardini.php
I signed up for their newsletter (which arrives in English) so every week or so I get to visit beautiful gardens. It also lists events in, or related to, gardens. I find gardens add an interesting layer to my travels....particularly when my own garden is dormant 5-6 months of the year. So if you are also a gardener, you may find it of interest.

Great resource, Maria!

We gravitate to gardens when they are nearby but don’t build our trips around them. Always wanted to get to the Gardens of Ninfa in Italy, but have not made it, sadly.

Thank you! This will be useful for our trip to southern Italy in March.

There's a Netflix show
Monty Don's Italian Gardens
Only 4 episodes. Before a recent trip to Naples, I watched the one that focused on that area.

Another good site describing some of the writer's favorite gardens in different parts of Italy: https://www.marthasitaly.com/articles/27/gardens-in-italy The last garden mentioned is near Viterbo, not far from Rome.
Also near Viterbo is one of the most fantastic forests imaginable, consisting entirely of giant beech trees on Monte Cimino: https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g1200600-d4701311-Reviews-Faggeta_del_Monte_Cimino-Soriano_nel_Cimino_Province_of_Viterbo_Lazio.html

There are two sculpture gardens in Tuscany that we very much enjoyed visiting. One is the Tarot Garden, close to Capalbio. It is filled with works by Nikki de Saint Phalle..

The other is the Garden of Daniel Spoerri. It is much more spread out, with fewer sculptures and more of the native flora. It is located about 80 km south of Siena, near the village of Seggiano.
