Traveling to Italy and Ireland in April 2024 from the U.S. Do we need to bring anything besides a passport to enter either country?
Depends on your nationality/passport, but assuming you have a valid US passport...
Definitely credit cards, an ATM card linked to your bank account back at home, a positive attitude and a willingness to embrace adventure...a good guidebook will also help.
If you want to drive or rent a car in Italy you need your driving license plus the International driving license if you are not-EU citizen.
I had read somewhere that Italy (not sure about Ireland) might be enacting some kind of new visas for tourists coming in to the country.
You are referring to the ETIAS travel authorization, and it has been deferred to 2025.
Ok, thanks all. All advice appreciated!
