Do I need to PREBOOK ferries for late May on Amalfi Coast

I am having trouble coming up with a consistent answer.
Some sites say to book all ferries in advance; others say to just walk up and purchase a ticket. Thoughts?

We are staying in Minori for 5 nights in late May 2026.

We would like to take the ferry from Salerno to Minori to arrive at our accommodations in Minori.
Also day trips to Amalfi and Positano; possibly others.
At the end of our stay we would like to take the ferry from Minori to Naples for our flight home the following day.

What is your experience with this?

We traveled from Salerno to Atrani to Capri and on to Sorrento. I believe I purchased some tickets 24 hour before and some on the day. I did not notice lack of availability, but all ferries were crowded. We had hiked the Path of Gods and took a return ferry home Positano, we did have to wait for the next ferry, We were there in mid- September and Positano and Amalfi were very crowded as were the ferries.
