Do I need tap out when using contactless card for Rome metro?

It seems to me that now I don't need waste time on ticket machine or app anymore. Tap&Go with my contactless bank card is available for Rome metro and bus. The link below says I need tap in for entry and tap my card again if make transfer. Can anyone confirm this? In addition, it doesn't mention if I need tap out at final metro exit. Anyone know?

Tap&go is much more convenient. In addition, CIS card increase to 32 euro now. Not sure if it is correct?

For those not wanting to click the link...the answer is No. Rome uses a timed system, so a tap (or traditional ticket) is good for 100 Minutes. If you tap again in that time, you will not be charged. Have not done it, but if you tap your card at a Metro turnstile after having recently tapped on the bus, the turnstile should allow you through.

In September, We tried using our CC to tap and go on the bus and metro and had a mixed experience. The first time on the bus it worked fine. We tapped at the red box and got the green light. 3 hours later, we boarded a bus and tried again and this time we got the message (translated from Italian) "The payment card is for single and personal use" on a big Red screen. We could not get it to flash green. We could not get it to work. So we rode to our destination hoping we would not get stopped by an inspector. Then 3 hours later, at the Colosseum metro station, The card did not work at the tap and go entry gate. But it did work at the ticket machine and we bought our metro ticket. So your mileage may vary.

At the exit of the metro station, we did not have to tap or metro ticket again, we just went through the exit gates.

Last night tapped to get on the 85 bus - worked fine. Rode the Metro twice today, tapping each time - no issues. The only real challenge was figuring out where to tap on the bus reader or Metro turnstile the first time using this method, and it quickly becomes apparent. The most reliable information is found on the ATAC website.

We used our phones to tap&go for a metro ride. There was no place to tap out. It all worked fine. The charge did not appear for a couple of days (usually phone tap charges show up in moments).
