Mid September we’ll be in Catania and will dedicate a day to go up the volcano. I’ll need transportation to Rifugio Sapienza, the base camp, from Catania. We want to take the cable car to the next lookout point. Should I book a tour to do this or is there a bus that will take us to the base and then we just buy tickets on our own to go further? Or would buying a tour make the experience more enjoyable and informative?

We loved using Etna People!!!! I am a very independent traveler, but this was the best choice for a wonderful day. Check out their website.

We loved Etna People as well- we did the half day walk around Etna with them.
