do agriturismos close in the winter?

I contacted an agriturismo 2-3 weeks ago inquiring about a room for October 2009. I have not yet heard back. Do you think I should try to find another place to stay or is it possible they are closed in the winter and will respond in the upcoming weeks? Thank you.

I'd be trying another place by now. I have stayed at 'Serragambetta'near Conversano in Puglia - I think open all year - and would recommend it.

Julia, I'm not sure where you are planning to go in Oct but I know 2 very, very good places in Panzano Tuscany. We have stayed at both more than once and can extoll for hours on each. Let me know if you're interested. Also idyllicitaly.com is a great site to find places. They charge a small fee for their listings but have personally visited them and speak first hand of them.

Thanks all. I just got a response yesterday from the owner of the agriturismo.
