We are getting into Venice a few days early so need to get to Royal Caribbean cruise port on our own. Our hotel is near the train station. We can get a transfer to the ship for $88... or will a vaporetto get us close? or is it walkable ??

All of Rick's books that include Venice (such as Med Cruise Ports) now include info on getting to the main cruise port called Stazione Maritima (a.k.a. Terminal Crociere or VTP or Venezia Terminal Passagieri). From the train station, you can walk across the new bridge to Piazzale Roma, then take the €1 People Mover to Stazione Maritima.
