Distance from Spello train station to town center

We will be spending 2 weeks in Spello as a home base and taking various day trips. How far is the the train station from the city center? Thank you! Karen Sortino

I've never been to Spello, but photos show what appears to be a hill town, so the walk from the train station might be distinctly uphill.

There is bus service, but the schedule eludes me.

Not a bad walk at all, only gently uphill from the station until you get into the piazza - THEN the uphill starts!

Well... that little piazza (Piazza della Repubblica) is not the one I was referring to - I was talking about the big piazza down by Porta Consolare which, I find on looking at my map now, is called Piazza Kennedy. From Kennedy, it's a good climb up the hill to where you'll lodge. We're seniors (70) and walked up and down several times a day for the week we were there, carrying laundry, groceries and so forth. It's certainly doable, but I didn't want you to be under any illusions.

We also are close or in our 70s (when did that happen?! HA) I think for our group doable. We will have 9 days before arriving in Spello in Rome, Venice and Cinque Terre and we are walkers, so maybe we will be somewhat acclimated! I will check and have time to make arrangements if we need to be picked up at the train station. That is why I inquired to see if it was walkable. Anxious for day hikes around the area, train for day trips, and will get a car a few day to go Frassi Caves and Adriatic coast. Any advise or suggestions are more than welcome! We will be putting alot of steps on the FitBit!!

If you're walkers, no problem. There's a nice taxi guy (drives a white van, or did when we were there) who I think meets every train to hopefully pick up fares. Up top, he parks in Piazza della Repubblica. So you definitely have options.
