I’m looking to see how many minutes & miles it would take by car from Lake Orta to Lake Como by car. Maybe the train from Milan to Lake Como may be easier.
Thanks in advance for any information sent my way.

Try google maps.
Thanks,

Where on Lake Como? It is a big lake with 3 branches and the answer will vary wildly depending on where.
I'm staying at ALBERGO LEON D'ORO Hotel on Piazza Motta, 42 Orta San Giulio.
Thanks,

OK, thanks for where you are starting. Now, where on Lake Como? It is a big lake with 3 branches and the answer will vary wildly depending on where.
Sorry, that would help. Going to Mandello del Lario.
Two hours or less. But only if you avoid rush hour around Milan (leave after 9am but no later than 2pm).
Be aware you can't drive to your hotel in Orta. It's inside the ZTL. The closest you can park is on top of the hill at the parking lot (underground) next to the pizzeria (I think it's called "il pozzo" or il "pollo", I was there last month but I dont remember the name) just before the beginning of the ZTL.
One more thing. near your hotel in Orta there is a fancy restaurant called "Venus". The view is great, but the food is not. It's a 'nouvelle cuisine' restaurant that has nothing to do with traditional Italian cuisine. You will pay a lot of money for "California Nonsense Cuisine" fancy displays and you'll leave hungry, because their portions are basically one morsel each. I know the view is great, but you can get a picturesque view of the island from the Piazza and save your money. Actually the restaurant next to the parking lot is way better. No view, plastic chairs, but they feed you the way you expect in Italy.
