I have been asked to bring some BIC lighters to Italy. It looks like they cannot be packed in checked luggage per airline rules.
Can anyone tell me if I can get them through in a carry-on? I know that the rules have recently changed in the US to allow them, but I don't know about Internationally. We fly through Frankfurt and Italy only.

Good Morning Jayne.. We had the same concerns when we traveled... I DID take one in my purse... thinking worst case scenario it would be conviscated.. ( it wasn't) you can always pick several up at the gift shops in the airport when you get to Rome.. hey.. less for you to pack too..
being an avid cigar smoker, this is a topic I keep an eye on. If I'm not mistaken, recent changes in the rules allow for flame (vs. torch) lighters to be carried on board in carry-on....
